MGS Delta Team Hopes Hideo Kojima Recognizes Remake’s Respect

Recently, Hideo Kojima, the mastermind behind Metal Gear Solid, dismissed the idea of playing the Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater remake with a laugh and a firm `No, I won`t.` Despite this, the development team of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater holds onto the hope that Kojima will eventually acknowledge the remake, recognizing the profound respect and reverence poured into its creation as an homage to the original.

Noriaki Okamura, producer for MGS Delta, conveyed his team`s intentions in an interview with Inverse: `While we can`t predict Kojima`s preferences, our aim is to release this game with the utmost respect for everyone we`ve collaborated with. We genuinely wish for Kojima to experience it himself.`

Kojima`s departure from Konami in 2015 marked the end of a long and influential tenure. Since then, he established his own studio and launched two Death Stranding titles. Okamura has consistently voiced his admiration for Kojima and a strong desire to collaborate on a future Metal Gear project. Nevertheless, Kojima is currently developing his own espionage-themed game, `Physint,` which remains in its early conceptual stages and is likely several years from release.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater has been released today across Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC platforms. While a new online multiplayer mode, `Fox Hunt,` is planned for this autumn, it will not include cross-play functionality at launch. The remake has garnered highly positive reviews.
