Following a successful launch that saw Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater surpass one million sales across consoles and PC in just over a week, Konami has rolled out a new update addressing several key areas.
Version 1.1.3 of Metal Gear Solid Delta is now live for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with the PC (Steam) version expected to follow shortly. The most significant addition in this update is the new inverted camera option. Konami also confirms that version 1.1.3 includes minor bug fixes, updated textures and models in specific scenes, resolutions for game crashes, and a fix for players not receiving rewards after collecting all GA-KO items.
Looking ahead, Konami has outlined several issues currently under investigation for future patches:
- PC (Steam): Implementing support for 21:9 aspect ratio (ultrawide) displays, though excluding demo scenes.
- PC (Steam): Adding an in-game feature to check system specifications.
- PlayStation 5 Pro: Providing an option to select a preferred rendering mode (e.g., Quality or Performance).
- All Platforms: Enhancing overall performance stability.
Notably, the PlayStation 5 Pro currently lacks the rendering mode selection available on other platforms, which Konami aims to address. While this update provides incremental improvements, a previous update in late August brought more substantial changes to the game.
Regarding the game`s audio, Metal Gear Solid Delta retains most of the original voice recordings from Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. However, David Hayter, the voice actor for Snake, has expressed interest in revisiting the role with his additional two decades of acting experience. Similarly, Lori Alan, who voices The Boss, celebrated the game`s launch by sharing cosplay photos of her character.
Players can also anticipate a new hide-and-seek multiplayer mode called “Fox Hunt” arriving in the fall. It`s important to note that this mode will not support cross-play. Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is currently available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC, having received a strong review score of 9.
Here are the detailed patch notes for Metal Gear Solid Delta version 1.1.3:
- Introduced an “Inverted Camera Look (Horizontal)” option, accessible via the Options menu under Controls.
- Fixed an issue preventing players from receiving the reward for collecting all GA-KO.
- Updated textures and models in specific game scenes.
- Resolved the majority of game-crashing issues based on player reports.
- Implemented various minor bug fixes and adjustments.
