Lori Alan, the esteemed actress who provided the voice for the iconic character The Boss in Metal Gear Solid, recently celebrated the highly anticipated launch of the modern remake, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. She marked the occasion by sharing a captivating photograph of herself in a complete cosplay of the character she first brought to life nearly two decades ago in 2004.
Significantly, the original voice recordings for Alan and the rest of the MGS 3 cast were meticulously preserved and utilized for Metal Gear Solid Delta. However, David Hayter, the renowned voice actor behind Naked Snake, publicly expressed his desire for an opportunity to re-record his performance for the new version. Hayter is also famously known for voicing Solid Snake in several earlier installments of the Metal Gear Solid series.
Adding to the behind-the-scenes insights, Brett Driver, the actor responsible for providing the motion capture for Naked Snake`s intricate facial expressions in Metal Gear Solid Delta, also shared details about his involvement. His work received a notable endorsement from Hayter himself, who praised Driver`s performance by stating, “I`m thinking you nailed it, kid. Nicely done.”
Noriaki Okamura, the producer of MGS Delta, conveyed his earnest hope that the franchise`s visionary creator, Hideo Kojima, will acknowledge and appreciate the new game`s faithful and respectful homage to the original. Kojima, who parted ways with Konami in 2015, has previously indicated that he does not intend to play Delta. Currently, he is focused on developing his own Metal Gear Solid-inspired project, tentatively titled “Physint,” which is still in its conceptual phase.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is now widely available across multiple platforms, including Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. The title has already garnered positive critical attention, notably receiving a strong score of 9 in GameSpot`s comprehensive review. Looking ahead, Konami has announced plans to introduce “Fox Hunt,” a new online multiplayer mode for Delta, later this autumn. However, it has been confirmed that this upcoming mode will not feature cross-platform compatibility.
In addition, fans can find an exclusive collection of Metal Gear Solid Delta merchandise offered by GameStop.
