How to get the Omni-Tool

Upon completing the tutorial in Grounded 2, players are free to explore the miniature dangers of a backyard park. Your immediate main objective should be locating the Ranger Outpost, easily identifiable by a star icon on your map. Inside, you`ll be prompted to retrieve the Omni-Tool from the wall.

Unlike the first Grounded game, which necessitated separate, upgradeable hammers, shovels, and axes, the Omni-Tool in Grounded 2 consolidates these functions into a single versatile device that can be progressively enhanced.

Once you acquire the Omni-Tool, it functions as a basic axe, capable of cutting minor vegetation. To access more advanced resource gathering and unlock further capabilities, you must advance deeper into the main questline to gain entry to the Ranger Station.

Within the Ranger Outpost, you`ll discover a locked door. Behind it, a ringing phone and a terminal, known as the Ranger Station, await. Your primary mission will guide you to find an alternative route into this sealed area, referred to as the Communications Array.

The game will mark a nearby tunnel on your map. You must venture through this tunnel to find an alternate entrance to the locked Communications Array room within the Ranger Outpost.

While not overly challenging, the tunnel is dark and inhabited by several lawn mites. It`s highly recommended to equip at least a basic spear for defense. A torch can also be beneficial, though navigation is possible without one.

Continue following the mission objectives until you answer the ringing phone. Following a short interaction, you will gain access to the Ranger Station terminal located within the room.

Upgrading the Omni-Tool

Once you interact with the Ranger Station terminal, you can begin upgrading your Omni-Tool. While the basic axe function is already available, this terminal allows you to unlock three additional capabilities: wrench, shovel, and hammer. Furthermore, each tool type can undergo multiple subsequent upgrades for enhanced utility.

Each upgrade requires specific resources and enhances the tool`s effectiveness. Note that some required resources for certain upgrades are currently unknown or will be introduced in future patches, meaning not all upgrades may be immediately accessible.

These are all listed as follows:
