During the recent PlayStation State of Play livestream, Insomniac Games offered a fresh glimpse into their highly anticipated next Marvel superhero game, Marvel`s Wolverine. The studio also confirmed that Liam McIntyre, widely recognized for his role in the series Spartacus, will be the voice actor for Wolverine in the upcoming title.
The newly released trailer showcased Wolverine engaging in combat with several familiar antagonists, including Omega Red and a colossal Sentinel. Mystique also made an appearance, though her role as either an ally or adversary remains intentionally ambiguous. A significant number of Wolverine`s enemies featured in the trailer appear to be members of the Reavers, a notorious group of cyborgs with a deep-seated hatred for mutants. Insomniac Games further revealed that the game`s narrative will take players on a global journey, transporting Wolverine from the untamed wilderness of Canada to the bustling streets of Tokyo, and even back to Logan`s infamous old stomping grounds in Madripoor.
Marvel`s Wolverine was first announced during the PlayStation Showcase in September 2021. This latest trailer marks the first official update and detailed look at the game since its initial reveal. It`s worth noting that Insomniac Games faced a major data breach in December 2023, which unfortunately led to the unauthorized release of raw footage from a pre-alpha build of the Wolverine game.
Insomniac has indicated that more information regarding Wolverine will be unveiled next spring, with the game officially slated for release on PlayStation 5 in the fall of 2026.
