NetEase Games has unveiled the upcoming seasonal update for Marvel Rivals, scheduled to launch on October 10. This update, dubbed `Heart of the Dragon` (Season 4.5), introduces significant new content, such as Daredevil as a new playable hero and the implementation of cross-platform progression.
Daredevil: The Man Without Fear Joins the Fray
The highly anticipated addition to the roster is none other than Daredevil, also known as The Man Without Fear. Although his arrival was previously hinted at, Marvel Games and NetEase Games have now officially confirmed his debut in the free-to-play hero brawler on October 10. Daredevil will join the expanding cast as a Duelist, showcasing a formidable appearance with `The Beast`s` demonic influence, notably his glowing magenta eyes. His abilities appear equally menacing, allowing him to detect enemies with heightened senses, quickly close distances with a dash, and execute powerful combos to eliminate opponents.
Cross-Platform Progression and Team-Up Abilities
Alongside these additions, Season 4.5 will introduce cross-platform progression, though it will not be fully implemented immediately. Initially, a select group of players will be invited to test this feature during the mid-season, ensuring a smooth full launch for all players by Season 5. It`s important to note that ranked matches and leaderboard standings will remain distinct for each platform, with career statistics and ranks tracked separately per device. However, other forms of player progression are expected to transfer across platforms.
The update also includes modifications to Team-Up Abilities, such as the removal of Hela and Thor`s `Ragnarok Rebirth`. New Team-Up Abilities are being introduced for Daredevil and The Punisher (`Bestial Hunt`), and for Hela and Namor (`Deep Wrath`).
Halloween Event and Exclusive Content
In addition to these core updates, Season 4.5 will feature a special Halloween event, complete with themed costumes. A new game mode is also planned, with full details to be revealed at the Thailand Game Show on October 17. Furthermore, Disney+ subscribers can claim an exclusive Daredevil outfit, inspired by the streaming service, available from October 10 until January 8, 2026.

Marvel Rivals is currently available as a free-to-play title on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The game recently expanded its availability to PlayStation 4, an update that also included a much-needed adjustment to the powerful healer, Luna Snow.
