Mafia: The Old Country is scheduled for release this Friday, August 8th. This marks the first new installment in the franchise since Mafia 3 in 2016. Positioned as a prequel to the original Mafia game, it`s presented as a more contained experience compared to its predecessors. Notably, it will forgo an open-world design, unlike Mafia 3, and will be available at a more accessible price point of $50, deviating from the prevailing $70+ game pricing trend.

Last month, GameSpot engaged in discussions with members of the Hangar 13 development team regarding the game. They explored how the early 20th-century setting influenced its creation and detailed the distinctions in its combat mechanics compared to previous titles.
