A free demo for the highly anticipated, Final Fantasy-inspired action game, Lost Soul Aside, is now available, coinciding with its official launch. This gives players a perfect opportunity to experience the gameplay firsthand before deciding to purchase the full title.
As detailed on the PlayStation store, the complimentary demo features two distinct boss encounters from different stages of the game. This design allows players to test both fundamental and advanced combat mechanics. The initial challenge pits players against the swift Rose Queen, known for her rapid, flurry-like attacks. Later in the demo, players can wield late-game abilities and a powerful two-handed greatsword when confronting Holy Knight Commander Victor and the Ancient Mecha. It`s important to note that any progress made in the demo will not carry over to the main game.
Lost Soul Aside began its journey in 2016 as a solo endeavor by Chinese developer Yang Bing, who crafted it using Unreal Engine assets. The project quickly garnered significant attention and momentum through its impressive trailers. Its potential was recognized by Sony`s China Hero Project, which led to Bing establishing UltiZero Games and expanding the development into a full team.
The game was initially slated for a May 30, 2025 release but experienced a delay to August, announced just a month prior to its intended launch. UltiZero Games stated this postponement was necessary to allow for further “polishing” of the game.
In related PlayStation news, Sony recently unveiled the lineup of free games for PlayStation Plus subscribers for the month of September.
