Lollipop Chainsaw: New Ventures on the Horizon

Released in 2012, the game Lollipop Chainsaw introduced players to Juliet Starling, a cheerleading zombie hunter wielding a chainsaw and an array of unconventional weaponry. Aside from the recent 2024 remaster, Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP, the franchise has remained largely quiet. However, Lollipop Chainsaw is now set for a major revival with “new projects” on the way, thanks to a strategic alliance between Dragami Games and Nada Holdings.

Both companies have jointly announced their intent to “jointly launch multiple new projects” rooted in the Lollipop Chainsaw universe. While specific details about these endeavors remain under wraps, potential avenues include a brand-new game or even a film adaptation.

Shohei Sato, President and CEO of Dragami Games, extended his heartfelt appreciation to the dedicated fans of Lollipop Chainsaw for their unwavering support. He also commended Nada Holdings for providing Dragami Games with the invaluable opportunity to breathe new life into the beloved franchise.

“The Nada Holdings team shares a deep affection and enthusiasm for this project, and also possesses proven experience in intellectual property investment and development,” Sato stated. “Through this partnership, we hope to work together to create new projects that will preserve the spirit and charm of the original while bringing fresh value to the franchise.”

It`s worth noting that James Gunn, co-CEO of DC Studios and director of the recently rebooted Superman film, co-wrote the story for the original Lollipop Chainsaw. Goichi Suda, famously known as Suda51, co-directed the game. However, neither Gunn nor Suda51 were involved in the development of the 2024 remaster. As new projects unfold, it remains to be seen whether these original creators will be willing or able to contribute to the future of the franchise.
