LEGO Transformers Soundwave Revealed, Releasing Next Month

LEGO is expanding its Transformers line next month with the highly anticipated release of Soundwave. This figure marks the introduction of the first Decepticon character into the collection, joining the previously launched fan-favorite Autobots, Optimus Prime and Bumblebee.

Following the pattern of the existing sets, Soundwave can seamlessly transition into his signature boombox alt-mode and is equipped with several interactive features. The set is priced at $190. Fans eager to add Soundwave to their collection can purchase him starting August 1st if they are members of the free Lego Insiders program. The set will become available to the general public on August 4th.

Building the Soundwave figure looks to be a rewarding experience, consisting of 1,505 pieces. In robot form, the Decepticon communications expert stands approximately 33cm tall. The kit also includes miniature figures of Soundwave`s loyal partners, Ravage and Rumble, which can transform into cassette tape mode.

Faithful to the original G1 design, these cassette partners can be stored neatly within Soundwave`s chest compartment when in their transformed state. A particularly exciting feature is the inclusion of a sound-brick that, when activated, will play newly recorded voice lines for Soundwave.

For those who haven`t acquired them yet, the Optimus Prime and Bumblebee Lego sets have proven very popular since their debut. Both sets are designed for enjoyable building and feature the ability to transform between modes without needing to be disassembled. Currently, you can find notable discounts on these sets.

The 1,508-piece Optimus Prime set, normally $180, is available for $144. The smaller 950-piece Bumblebee kit, usually $90, is on sale for $85.49.

Beyond the Transformers, additional Lego deals are available during ongoing sales events, such as Walmart`s sale coinciding with Amazon`s Prime Day 2025. Discounts are available on various popular sets, including the Star Wars UCS X-Wing Starfighter, the discontinued Lego Ideas: The Office diorama, and the Guardians of the Galaxy Milano Starship.

Another impressive set currently discounted is the massive 2,807-piece Bowser display model, which is the largest set in the Lego Super Mario Bros. range. This set typically retails for $270 but is currently reduced to $219. Discounts on this particular Bowser model are infrequent, making this a prime opportunity to purchase it if you`re interested.
