On August 1, Lego introduced nine new Star Wars playsets and display models, including the latest Ultimate Collector Series (UCS) build designed for adults. The highly detailed 1,513-piece recreation of the AT-ST Walker transport vehicle is priced at $200, making it the most affordable set in the exclusive UCS collection available today.
The AT-ST Walker UCS was announced in early July. Now that the official launch has occurred, this set is widely available for purchase. Additionally, it`s worth noting that Jango Fett`s Firespray-Class Starship, the UCS build released for Star Wars Day this year, is also no longer an exclusive. The 2,970-piece model, inspired by “Attack of the Clones,” is available for $300.

The All Terrain Scout Transport, or AT-ST, has been a part of the Star Wars universe since “The Empire Strikes Back.” This 1,513-piece building set creates a detailed replica that closely resembles the AT-ST from “Return of the Jedi.”
The completed model measures 14.5 x 8.5 x 8.5 inches and features multiple interactive components, including an openable top hatch covering the cockpit, a rotating head, movable viewport shutters, and adjustable laser cannons. Lego`s AT-ST has articulated legs, allowing it to mimic its distinctive “chicken walker” gait.
As an Ultimate Collector Series set, this AT-ST boasts a myriad of small details not found in standard Lego playsets. The spacious two-person cockpit features intricate details that align more closely with its appearance in the movies. UCS builds also employ a more thoughtful approach to layering and visible studs. The assembly process for Ultimate Collector Series sets is generally more complex, making the AT-ST and other UCS sets recommended for experienced builders aged 18 and up.
Like all UCS Star Wars builds, the AT-ST comes with an information plaque and a minifigure. Appropriately, the minifigure included with this kit is an AT-ST Driver.
The remaining kits in Lego`s August lineup are primarily aimed at younger Star Wars fans, though adult builders will likely find at least two of the large buildable character figures appealing. Lego has designed an adorable 1,010-piece Wicket the Ewok model from “Return of the Jedi” and an 845-piece K-2SO Security Droid from “Rogue One.”
Technically, there`s also a tenth new set, as two of them are available in a discounted bundle called the Epic Battle Set, which includes a bonus miniature Millennium Falcon (Lego Polybag). Speaking of bundles, a Lego Star Wars 3-in-1 Gift Set was released this week for $45, and it is expected to sell out quickly.
Lego Star Wars: Ultimate Collector Series
The new AT-ST is actually the second model of its kind in Lego`s Ultimate Collector Series. The first one was released back in 2006 and has been retired for many years. The upcoming model is significantly more detailed, partly due to having approximately 500 additional pieces, but also because Lego has continuously improved its design and production quality over time.
As mentioned, the $200 AT-ST Walker is currently the most affordable set in the Lego Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series. Several other sets are available for under $250, including the TIE Interceptor Starfighter, X-Wing Starfighter, and Luke Skywalker`s Landspeeder.
