Leak Reveals One of April’s PlayStation Plus Free Games

As March draws to a close, Sony is expected to announce the lineup of PS4 and PS5 games for PlayStation Plus Essential subscribers. However, one of the month’s titles may have already leaked: according to renowned insider billbil-kun, April’s flagship game is anticipated to be Lords of the Fallen.

Based on their sources, this soulslike action RPG, published by CI Games in 2023, is set to become available on Tuesday, April 7th. This release will coincide with the other Essential games, which Sony is scheduled to officially unveil on March 31st.

What is Lords of the Fallen?

Lords of the Fallen is a dark fantasy action RPG that immerses players in a brutal world teeming with incredibly resilient foes. Its unique feature is the coexistence of two overlapping dimensions, Axiom and Umbral, allowing players to traverse between them to explore new areas and gain tactical advantages. The combat system, characteristic of soulslike games, demands precision, stamina management, and an acute understanding of enemy attack patterns.

Upon its release, the game garnered praise for its innovative ideas but also faced several initial issues. Nevertheless, the development team has provided substantial post-launch support, addressing many of these problems. The update cycle concluded in December with patch 2.5, which introduced, among other new features, the Veteran Mode, making enemies and bosses even more formidable.

What are your thoughts? Would you be pleased if Lords of the Fallen is indeed confirmed as one of the PlayStation Plus Essential games for April?
