Watchmaker Krayon has unveiled a new product dedicated to Pac-Man, the iconic video game character that became a phenomenon in arcades (and beyond) in the early 80s and has remained popular ever since. This is the Krayon PAC-MAN Anywhere Limited Edition watch, priced at a striking 188,000 Swiss Francs (approximately 205,000 euros at current exchange rates) and limited to just 15 units worldwide.
An Exclusive Collector’s Item
Clearly a luxury watch, it is designed for collectors and celebrates the character’s 45th anniversary. Crafted by Rémi Maillat and Fei Hou, the model is a reinterpretation of the renowned ‘Anywhere’ series, known for its ability to display not only the time but also the duration of the day, along with sunrise and sunset.
On its unique dial, Pac-Man replaces the sun as it traverses the face, while decorative elements feature labyrinths, fruits, and ghosts, all iconic references to the Namco video game. A particularly clever detail is how midnight is indicated by a blue ghost (signifying an edible ghost in the game’s lore), while sunrise is marked by one of the four main ghosts: Blinky, Pinky, Inky, or Clyde (each watch features a different ghost for sunrise).
Technically, this timepiece is a true masterpiece, boasting a manual movement, Caliber C030, a 72-hour power reserve, and an impressive 432 components solely dedicated to the day-night indications. Furthermore, each watch is individually calibrated according to the buyer’s specific geographical location, ensuring unparalleled precision in its astronomical displays.
