Iconic “Rebuild of Evangelion” Films Return to Blu-ray

The initial two films from the “Rebuild of Evangelion” series are set to receive new Blu-ray editions on October 14th. “Evangelion: 1.11 You Are (Not) Alone” and “Evangelion: 2.22 You Can (Not) Advance” are currently available for pre-order at $30 each. These films have been out of print in the US for an extended period, with their most recent releases dating back to 2010-2011.

Fans are hopeful that “Evangelion: 3.33” will also see a reprint soon, completing the full “Evangelion” saga on Blu-ray. Currently, only the DVD version of “3.33” is readily available. In related news, the concluding film, “Evangelion: 3.0+1.11 Thrice Upon a Time,” received a new Blu-ray Steelbook Edition last summer, which is now priced only slightly higher than its standard counterpart. Notably, “Evangelion 3.0+1.11” is also the sole film in the series available on 4K Blu-ray in the US, exclusively as a Collector`s Edition for $55 (originally $80).

The “Rebuild of Evangelion” series, consisting of four parts released between 2007 and 2021, offers a reimagined narrative of the beloved 1990s anime “Neon Genesis Evangelion.” The original “Neon Genesis Evangelion” series is also available on Blu-ray for $40 (reduced from $60).
