Wildgate, a multiplayer PvP shooter reminiscent of Sea of Thieves in space, features a roster of seven distinct Prospectors you can play. Initially, only three are available, each with unique abilities and excelling in different game aspects. However, unlocking the remaining four Prospectors doesn`t take long, provided you know where to look.
How to Unlock Every Wildgate Character
To unlock the four locked characters—Sammo, Ion, Mophs, and Sal—you need to reach the first tier of their corresponding “Adventure reward track.” These Adventure Tracks function similarly to battle passes, but they are entirely free and accessible from the start of the game. You must activate the chosen Adventure Track before queuing for a match. Experience points (XP) are awarded exclusively in PvP matches; playing against CPU opponents does not grant XP, so ensure you select the correct playlist.
Adventure Tracks for Locked Prospectors:
- Sammo – Hope Adventure
- Ion – Danger Adventure
- Mophs – Glory Adventure
- Sal – Knowledge Adventure
Approximately 70,000 XP is required to unlock a single tier on an Adventure Track. Daily missions can offer up to 140,000 XP upon completion, while regular PvP matches can yield around 25,000 XP per match, depending on performance, with additional rewards for winning. While other tiers of the Adventure Tracks offer new equipment and cosmetics, character unlocks are always on the first tier. This means you can unlock each character in just three to four matches, even without completing daily missions.
Each Wildgate Prospector specializes in different activities such as piloting, adventuring, or combat. Unlocking the full roster allows you to choose a character that best suits your playstyle. The Wildgate developers have also shared a roadmap detailing new content, including additional Prospectors and Points of Interest (POIs), set to arrive in future updates later this year.
