Looking to add Pikachu, the iconic Electric-type Pokémon and Ash Ketchum`s famous companion, to your team in Pokémon Legends: Z-A? Fortunately, acquiring one is simpler than you might expect, often achievable within the initial hours of gameplay.
Pikachu Location: Wild Zone 3
Unlike some previous Pokémon titles where finding Pikachu could involve extensive searching in remote areas or specific evolution criteria (like raising Pichu`s friendship in Legends: Arceus), obtaining one in Pokémon Legends: Z-A is much less complicated.
Your primary target for catching Pikachu is Wild Zone 3, located in the northern sector of Lumiose City.

Catching Pikachu in Wild Zone 3
Wild Zone 3 is a diverse habitat shared by various Pokémon, including Litleo, Skiddo, Flabebe, and of course, Pikachu. Within this garden-like area, you`ll typically encounter at least two Pikachu in any given quadrant.
Successful capture often requires engaging Pikachu in battle. After weakening it, use a standard Poké Ball or, for a higher chance, a Great Ball to secure your catch.

Capturing an Alpha Pikachu
For those seeking a greater challenge, Alpha Pikachu variants are also available. These larger, more aggressive versions can be found in different areas; for example, one was spotted at level 41 relaxing on a rooftop in Wild Zone 6`s northernmost building.

Pikachu`s Evolution and Traits
Pikachu retains its familiar characteristics and evolution path from previous games:
- Type: Electric
- Evolution: Pichu evolves into Pikachu, which then evolves into Raichu using a Thunder Stone.
- Notable Moves: Thunder Shock, Nuzzle, Thunder Bolt, Spark.
