Honkai: Nexus Anima Revealed: How to Join the Beta Test

HoYoverse is expanding its diverse portfolio of gacha games with a new title, Honkai: Nexus Anima. This upcoming creature-collecting game is poised to attract fans of the Pokémon series, albeit with some notable differences that set it apart in the burgeoning genre.

Distinct Gameplay Mechanics

One of the most significant departures from traditional creature-collecting games like Pokémon is Honkai: Nexus Anima`s combat system. Instead of individual 1v1 turn-based battles, the game adopts an auto-battler approach, drawing parallels to strategic titles such as Auto Chess or Teamfight Tactics.

Beyond combat, players will engage with the titular Anima—the game`s unique creatures—in various interactive ways. Promotional material showcased several distinct minigames, including:

  • A high-speed racing challenge.
  • A minigame focused on shooting beach balls.
  • A unique and unexpected scenario involving the destruction of an office building.

The game also features extensive customization options for the player character, with the possibility of playing as different characters entirely. Additionally, similar to more recent Pokémon installments, players will be able to ride various Anima to traverse the game`s expansive world.

Participating in the Nexus Bond Test

For those eager to experience Honkai: Nexus Anima early, HoYoverse is currently running its inaugural “Nexus Bond Test.” To sign up, prospective testers must follow these steps:

  1. Visit the game`s official website.
  2. Click the designated “Join Test” button.
  3. Log in with their existing HoYoverse account.
  4. Complete a detailed questionnaire. This survey gathers information on device specifications, personal gaming preferences, and typical spending habits on games.

The beta test is exclusively available on iOS and PC platforms. Initially, it supports a range of languages including Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, English, Japanese, and Korean, with plans for additional language options in future updates.

The ongoing test period is scheduled to conclude on September 12th. A definitive release date for the full version of Honkai: Nexus Anima has not yet been announced.
