Hollow Knight: Silksong Codes for Original Kickstarter Backers

For those who supported Hollow Knight on Kickstarter back in late 2014, Team Cherry, the game`s developer, has confirmed they will receive a digital download code for Hollow Knight: Silksong. This announcement marks the first Kickstarter communication in six years regarding the highly anticipated metroidvania title.

It`s important to note that Hollow Knight: Silksong codes will exclusively be for PC, Nintendo Switch, and Switch 2 platforms. The game is scheduled to launch on September 4th for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Game Pass. Team Cherry stated in their update, “We`ll be contacting you very soon to confirm your preferred platform and the best email address for sending your copy/copies. Codes will be provided for either PC (Steam and DRM-free) or Nintendo Switch (Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2).”

Interestingly, the last Kickstarter update before this one was shortly after E3 2019, discussing a Hollow Knight: Silksong demo. The Gamescom demo available this week is reportedly quite similar to that E3 2019 experience (from an event that no longer exists).

The news about Kickstarter backers getting Hollow Knight: Silksong codes aligns with earlier reports. Jason Schreier from Bloomberg had suggested that reviews might not be ready prior to the game`s release, as Team Cherry reportedly believes it would be unfair for critics to play the game before the original supporters.

The excitement for Hollow Knight: Silksong`s impending release is clearly evident. Hollow Knight recently achieved its highest-ever concurrent player count on Steam, surpassing 22,000 users. Furthermore, at least three independent games have reportedly delayed their launches to avoid clashing with Hollow Knight: Silksong`s release.
