Hitman: World of Assassination on iOS Carries a $70 Price Tag

The iOS version of Hitman: World of Assassination has launched, immediately drawing attention due to its substantial $70 USD price tag for the full game. While the initial location is freely accessible, players must make this payment to unlock the complete experience, though it`s important to note this doesn`t encompass all available content.

Interestingly, this $70 bundle offers a cost-saving alternative to purchasing the game`s 25 levels individually, which would amount to more if bought separately at $3 each. The “World of Assassination” package seamlessly integrates content from Hitman, Hitman 2, and Hitman 3, with the highly anticipated Freelancer mode slated for a future update. The game is designed to support both intuitive touch controls and dedicated gaming controllers.

Beyond the core game, players have the option to acquire additional downloadable content (DLC). The total value of available microtransactions within the game reaches an impressive $135. It`s worth noting that while the iOS price is significant, the “World of Assassination” title on other platforms often carries a similar initial price but is frequently offered at a discount.

The free introductory level for iOS users consists of the ICA Training Facility tutorial and the challenging Sebastian Principle escalation mission set in Dubai. A notable aspect of the mobile release is its hefty download size: the full game requires a substantial 43GB of storage.

For comparison, the “World of Assassination” title is priced at $60 USD on the Switch 2. As of now, there has been no announcement regarding a release for Android devices.

This $70 price point for the iOS version of Hitman evokes comparisons to previous mobile pricing strategies for AAA game ports, such as Capcom`s Resident Evil 7. That particular iOS port, despite being priced lower at $20, reportedly garnered only around 2,000 downloads in its first month.

Looking ahead, IO Interactive, the developer behind Hitman, is currently engaged in the development of a new James Bond game, titled “007: First Light,” alongside an upcoming fantasy game.
