The highly anticipated sci-fi first-person shooter, High on Life 2, is now officially set to launch on February 13, 2026. Initially expected in Winter 2025, this title from Squanch Games, known for its unique comedic style reminiscent of “Rick and Morty,” will once again feature an arsenal of sentient, talking weapons that players use to combat aliens who see humans merely as ingredients for their pharmaceutical products.
The concept behind the original High on Life was developed by “Rick and Morty” co-creator Justin Roiland, and the game first debuted in 2022. It achieved significant success as a day-one Xbox Game Pass release, with Microsoft reporting it as Game Pass`s largest third-party launch and biggest single-player game launch at the time. This third-party record was held until 2024, when it was surpassed by Palworld.
High on Life 2 will be available on day one through Xbox Game Pass for PC and Xbox Series X|S. Additionally, it will also launch for PlayStation 5. In related news, an animated series based on High on Life is currently in development.
A notable new feature introduced in the sequel is the ability for players to navigate levels using a skateboard, replacing the traditional sprint option. This innovative traversal method not only allows for rapid movement but also enables players to perform tricks, transforming levels into skateparks, and even utilize the board as an improvised weapon during combat encounters.
February is typically a busy period for new game releases. As 2026 approaches, more titles are being announced for this month. While the February 2026 schedule isn`t overly crowded yet, High on Life 2 will face competition from other major releases, including Resident Evil Requiem, the next installment in Capcom`s renowned survival-horror franchise.
