Helldivers 2: Major Update Introduces New Hive World Levels And Fixes The Halo ODST Gun Bug

The latest significant chapter in the Helldivers 2 universe has officially launched, accompanied by comprehensive patch notes. As new recruits from Xbox join the ranks of Super Earth`s forces, it`s time to delve into previously unexplored territories. The “Into the Unjust” update challenges Helldivers to infiltrate subterranean Terminid nests—dangerous zones that disrupt standard Super Destroyer support, requiring players to locate structural weak points for communication. What enigmatic secrets are concealed within the mysterious Gloom shroud observed on various Hive Worlds? You`ll have to uncover them yourself, but rest assured, there`s new gear and weaponry available to aid your fight.

Update Highlights and New Content

This update delivers a blend of gameplay enhancements, bug resolutions, and fresh content. Players will encounter Hive Worlds featuring dynamically generated cave networks, offering opportunities to discover “repugnant flora and fauna” alongside advanced Terminid variants. These planets also present hazardous acid lakes (best avoided), destructible cave walls for new traversal options, and dimly lit areas concealing multi-legged adversaries.

A new mission type involves operating a mobile oil rig to extract a peculiar oily substance from these worlds. Furthermore, developer Arrowhead has introduced four new Terminid enemy types. Rupture Spewers can project deadly corrosive matter; Rupture Warriors lurk in the shadows to shield their internal organs from UV light; Rupture Chargers can tunnel through the ground to surprise Helldivers; and Dragonroaches execute aerial acid bombardments.

Critical Fixes and Balancing Changes

Among the various tweaks and fixes, Arrowhead has addressed a critical issue concerning a beloved weapon from the Halo universe in the ODST Warbond. The MA5C Assault Rifle was previously causing game crashes when equipped by a party leader on their super destroyer`s bridge, an issue that has now been resolved.

New Enemy Types:

  • Rupture Warrior: A mutation resulting from Gloom exposure, this warrior lacks the UV-protective chitin layer. It prefers subterranean movement, suggesting a hidden shame.
  • Rupture Charger: Sensing Liberty, this armored beast burrows to evade its light, then tunnels at high speeds to ambush its targets.
  • Dragonroach: An aerial menace that circles its prey, diving down to spray them with air-combustible acid – a cowardly tactic from an exoskeletal abomination.

  • Stun explosions will now initially stagger enemies without ragdolling the player if hit.

Throwables:

Stun Grenade:
