Supergiant Games announced during the hour-long Nintendo Direct on September 12 that Hades II will exit early access on September 25. Following the path of its acclaimed predecessor, Hades II will initially be available as a timed console exclusive for Nintendo Switch, the upcoming Switch 2, and PC. The digital version of the game will be priced at $30.
A physical edition of Hades II is scheduled for launch on November 20 and is currently available for preorder at a price of $50.
Detailed Information on the Physical Edition
The physical version of Hades II, published by Nintendo, will include the complete game along with any upgrade packs directly on the cartridge. While it will be housed in a Nintendo Switch 2-branded case, the game card itself is fully compatible with the original Switch, Switch OLED, and Switch Lite models. This specific Switch 2-branded edition represents the only physical release of Hades II planned for Nintendo consoles.
Regarding technical performance, Hades II is set to render in 1080p resolution at 120 frames per second (fps) on the Nintendo Switch 2. In handheld mode on the Switch 2, players can expect 1080p resolution at 60fps. For those playing on the original Nintendo Switch, Hades II will run at 720p and 60fps. Furthermore, players who have an existing early access save file on PC will have the convenient option to transfer their progress to their Nintendo console.
As noted, the digital version of the game will be available for $30 on both Switch and Switch 2, with all upgrade packs included free of charge.
