Following a highly successful early access period that included numerous significant updates and fine-tuning patches, Hades 2 is now poised for its complete launch. During the recent September Nintendo Direct presentation, Nintendo officially revealed that the highly anticipated sequel will be available digitally for the Nintendo Switch 2 and the original Switch starting September 25.
This launch will see Hades 2 enjoy a period of timed console exclusivity on the Switch platform. However, PC players will not have to wait, as the game is set to debut simultaneously on the same day via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
For those who prefer physical media, a boxed version of Hades 2 specifically for the Switch 2 console is scheduled to be released on November 20.
Over its year-plus in early access, Hades 2 has undergone substantial evolution. Since May 2024, the developers have introduced a wealth of new content and meticulously refined the gameplay experience through several major updates. A brand new v1.0 launch trailer for Hades 2 was also unveiled during the Nintendo Direct, offering a fresh look at the game`s latest state.
Even from its initial early access release, Hades 2 provided a feature-rich and engaging experience for players. Subsequent updates and patches have further expanded the game world with an impressive array of additions, including uncharted regions to explore, a greater variety of weapons to master, and charming new familiars to recruit to your side.
While Hades 2 is eventually planned for release on Xbox and PlayStation platforms, the Switch 2 will be the initial console to host the game, benefiting from its timed exclusive status. Performance details for the Switch 2 indicate that Hades 2 will run at a crisp 1080p resolution and 120 frames per second when played in TV mode. In handheld mode, players can expect a smooth experience at 1080p resolution and 60 frames per second.
