Following its official launch, Hades 2 has reached an unprecedented number of concurrent players on Steam. The popular roguelite title drew a peak of 112,947 simultaneous players over the past weekend, surpassing its previous Early Access record of just over 103,000 players set in May 2024. Remarkably, this achievement means Hades 2 has more than doubled the all-time peak of its critically acclaimed predecessor, Hades, which saw 54,240 concurrent players in May 2024.
Supergiant Games officially released Hades 2 version 1.0 on September 25. This full launch brought with it the game`s true ending, a collection of 50 new achievements, and fresh artwork. Currently, Hades 2 is available exclusively on PC, Nintendo Switch, and the upcoming Switch 2.
This sequel marks a significant milestone for Supergiant Games, as it is the studio`s first direct follow-up since its inception in 2009. Prior to Hades 2, Supergiant was known for acclaimed titles such as Bastion, Transistor, Pyre, and the original Hades. The game has been met with critical acclaim, receiving a perfect 10/10 score from one major publication, making it only the second title this year to achieve such a rating.
While Supergiant Games has not yet revealed its next project, it is anticipated that Hades 2 will eventually be released on PlayStation and Xbox consoles, mirroring the launch strategy of its predecessor.
