Rockstar Games has unveiled its extensive plans for Grand Theft Auto V`s Halloween celebration, promising players a host of frightening content throughout October. Get ready for a month filled with spooky challenges and unique rewards.
Zombie Survival Modes Return
Kicking off the festivities, the popular Cayo Perico Survival and Ludendorff Cemetery Survival modes are making a return, reimagined with a terrifying zombie theme specifically for Halloween. In these revamped modes, players will confront relentless hordes of zombies. Rockstar has confirmed the presence of formidable enemies, including “hulking juggernauts, armored conquistadors, splitters, possessed animals and their handlers, and even zombie DJs,” among other horrors.

Players participating in the Cayo Perico Survival mode can earn double GTA$ and RP until October 8. Later in the month, from October 23 to November 5, the Ludendorff Cemetery Survival mode will provide even greater incentives with triple rewards.
Slasher Mode in the Ramius Submarine
Additionally, the GTA Online Halloween update introduces a unique variation of the classic Slasher mode. This new version confines the intense cat-and-mouse gameplay to the cramped environment of the Ramius submarine. Initially, one player assumes the role of the Slasher, equipped with a shotgun and a flashlight for navigation in the dark. After a period of three minutes, the hunted players are also armed with shotguns, turning the tables and allowing them to pursue the Slasher. This specific Slasher variant will award double GTA$ and RP from October 16-22. Standard Slasher modes will also be available throughout October.
Weekly Halloween Adversary Modes
Furthermore, Rockstar plans to introduce a different Halloween-themed adversary mode each week during October. The thrilling schedule is as follows:
- October 2–8: Beast vs. Slasher
- October 9–15: Judgement Day
- October 16–22: Slasher (Ramius Submarine)
- October 23–29: Condemned
- October 30–November 5: Slasher (includes Ramius Submarine)
More Spooky Happenings
Beyond these structured modes, Rockstar has hinted at “plenty more unusual events” occurring across GTA Online throughout October. Players should keep an eye out for UFOs in the sky, with potential abductions occurring. New missions will also be available, tasking players with assisting investigators in uncovering evidence of supernatural phenomena. Moreover, collecting jack o` lanterns hidden across the map will grant players additional GTA$.
Lastly, GTA+ subscribers can anticipate special Halloween-themed rewards beginning October 9, though specific details have not yet been officially revealed.
Looking ahead, GTA 6 is the anticipated next installment in the series. While initially slated for a release around this period, its highly publicized delay has pushed its launch to May 26, 2026.
