The acclaimed racing simulator, Gran Turismo 7 by Polyphony Digital, is poised to receive a substantial content enhancement this December with the anticipated launch of its Spec III update. This significant addition promises to enrich the game with new vehicles, fresh racing circuits, and advanced features designed to deepen the gameplay experience. The announcement, made during a recent PlayStation State of Play broadcast, also highlighted a monumental achievement for the entire series: the Gran Turismo franchise has officially sold over 100 million units globally.
Players can look forward to a wealth of new content in the upcoming Spec III update. It will introduce two entirely new tracks for drivers to master, eight additional cars to expand the diverse roster of vehicles, and a brand-new circuit experience challenge. A particularly innovative feature making its debut is the data logger, which was briefly showcased in the reveal. This powerful tool will enable players to conduct a thorough review of their past race performances, providing detailed analytics on aspects such as their racing lines, throttle input, speed variations, and engine RPM through easy-to-understand charts. This analytical capability is designed to empower drivers to meticulously refine their techniques and optimize their race strategies.
Currently, Gran Turismo 7 remains an exclusive title available solely on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles. Despite Sony`s growing tendency to bring its first-party games to the PC platform, there has been no official confirmation or announcement regarding a PC port for Gran Turismo 7 at this time.
