GeForce NOW Enhances VR with 90 FPS Support and Adds Day-One AAA Game

GeForce NOW has announced significant updates this month, introducing support for 90 frames-per-second VR streaming and the immediate availability of the highly anticipated AAA game, Crimson Desert.

Kicking off with improved VR streaming, GeForce NOW now supports up to 90 FPS. This enhanced frame rate is exclusively available on compatible devices such as Apple Vision Pro, Meta Quest, and Pico devices. To access this premium experience, users must hold an Ultimate membership. Ultimate members can now enjoy exceptionally smooth VR gameplay, benefiting from standard NVIDIA RTX capabilities and the recently integrated DLSS technology.

Perhaps the most surprising announcement is the addition of the highly anticipated title, Crimson Desert, to the cloud gaming platform. Launching with GeForce RTX 5080-class processing power, Crimson Desert will be available on GeForce NOW on its release day. The game immerses players in the story of Kliff, who journeys through the expansive world of Pywell to reunite his brotherhood and combat malevolent forces.

Additionally, a new crossover event has been unveiled between World of Tanks and the Mafia series. From March 19th to March 29th, players can witness “Lost Heaven” mobsters engaging in tank battles using special Italian Predatore tanks. The event also offers opportunities to unlock themed 2D cosmetic items and recruit iconic characters from the Mafia universe.

Here’s a complete list of new titles joining GeForce NOW:

  • Everwind (New release on Steam, March 17, GeForce RTX 5080-ready)
  • Retro Rewind – Video Store Simulator (New release on Steam, March 17)
  • Crimson Desert (New release on Steam, March 19, GeForce RTX 5080-ready)
  • Fallout 3 (Steam)

In a less positive update, several popular titles — Cyberpunk 2077, Forza Motor Sport, Icarus, and Ark Survival Ascended — will be removed from the free tier of GeForce NOW starting April 1st. GeForce NOW clarified that this change is due to the “basic rig type no longer meeting the games’ updated minimum system requirements.” However, these games will remain accessible to premium members.
