Gears of War: Reloaded, which recently launched, encountered some initial technical difficulties. Fortunately, the development team at The Coalition has responded swiftly, with several fixes already deployed or planned for imminent release.
In a recent social media announcement, the studio confirmed they have resolved an issue that prevented players from accessing their pre-order bonus skins for Adam Fenix and Anya Stroud on both Xbox and Steam platforms. Furthermore, a critical fix for Steam client crashes has been implemented, with an update specifically addressing this problem rolling out today, August 28.
The Coalition indicated that the preparation and release of these fixes required thorough testing to ensure stability. Microsoft also issued a caution, noting that the patch deployment might lead to brief interruptions in online services.
As of August 28, user reviews for Gears of War: Reloaded on Steam were categorized as “mixed.” On its debut day, the game saw a peak concurrent player count of approximately 4,800 users.
Gears of War: Reloaded was released on August 26 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. This remastered version of the original game marks the franchise`s first appearance on a PlayStation console, concluding a 19-year period of Xbox exclusivity for the series. Coincidentally, August 26 also saw the launch of Helldivers 2, a PlayStation-published title, on Xbox.
Looking ahead, the next title in the franchise, Gears of War: E-Day, is projected for a 2026 release. For current players of Reloaded, various guides are available to assist in locating all collectible COG tags within the game.
