Gears of War: Reloaded Day-One Update Resolves Stability Issues and PC DualSense Glitch

Players diving into Gears of War: Reloaded can expect a smoother experience thanks to a day-one update from developer The Coalition. This essential patch targets platform-wide crashing issues, introduces various quality-of-life enhancements, and specifically resolves an unusual problem causing low frame rates when using a DualSense controller on PC.

The Coalition confirmed via the official Gears of War X (formerly Twitter) account that this is a mandatory update. It significantly improves support for handheld devices, enabling them to seamlessly transition to mouse-and-keyboard UI when needed. The remastered cover-based shooter is already Steam Deck verified and is set to be fully playable on the ROG Xbox Ally upon its October release.

Breaking a nearly two-decade tradition as an Xbox console exclusive, the Gears of War series, known for its iconic chainsaw guns and formidable Locust enemies, makes its debut on PlayStation with Gears of War: Reloaded (specifically on PS5). This launch is notable as it coincides with a `trade` of exclusives: while Gears of War: Reloaded lands on PS5, Helldivers 2 also becomes available on Xbox Series X|S. Gears of War co-creator Cliff Blezinski expressed his excitement, noting the expansion of the series to a wider player base.

Gears of War: Reloaded features significantly enhanced visuals and includes all previously released DLC from the 2006 Xbox 360 original. The remaster is launching simultaneously across PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and is also available on Game Pass starting today.
