A cryptic viral message from G Fuel, the popular energy drink brand aimed at gamers, has ignited widespread speculation regarding its potential closure. However, many observers are questioning whether this is simply a sophisticated marketing strategy.
The message, prominently featured on their Twitter profile, read:
“After years of shaking things up, fueling the grind, and rewriting the rules, it’s the end of an era.
We’ve had the honor of being here through the late nights, the big wins, the impossible comebacks, and the unforgettable moments that made G Fuel more than just energy.
It’s been an incredible journey being able to build alongside creators, gamers, streamers, and a community that became family. Every tub cracked, every shaker raised, every memory made…we’ve felt the love every step of the way.
So to everyone who’s been a part of it thank you, we love you.
Logging out, G Fuel.”
Despite the alarming post, G Fuel`s official website remains fully operational, allowing customers to purchase products and even pre-order upcoming collaborations, such as a strawberry pomegranate `Doom: The Dark Age` powder and a Chun-Li blueberry white peach flavor. When contacted, a company representative cryptically advised, “Keep an eye out over the next 24 hours,” regarding inquiries about a potential shutdown.
Simulating a company closure wouldn`t be an unprecedented tactic for a brand deeply embedded in the gaming culture and its vibrant personalities. G Fuel has a history of strategic partnerships, collaborating with popular web series like Critical Role, renowned streamers such as PewDiePie, major game franchises including Rainbow Six Siege, Guilty Gear Strive, and Sonic, and even virtual YouTubers like Ironmouse and Projekt Melody.
Established in 2012 by Clifford Morgan under Gamma Labs, G Fuel initially launched as a water-soluble caffeinated powder. Over the years, its product line expanded significantly to include canned beverages, single-serving energy packs, and branded shaker cups.

In a 2015 interview with The New York Times, Morgan positioned G Fuel as a healthier alternative to conventional energy drinks like Red Bull and Monster. He stated, “I don’t think you can even compare the ingredients that are in G Fuel to the ingredients of some energy drinks. They’re so toxic. They have so many chemicals.”
However, in April 2018, Gamma Labs faced legal action from California’s Environmental Research Center. The lawsuit alleged lead contamination in G Fuel products and a failure to comply with California’s Proposition 65, which mandates warning labels for products containing certain levels of chemicals, including lead. Gamma Labs reportedly reached a settlement in the case.
The G Fuel brand has been embroiled in controversy on several occasions. In 2019, Clifford Morgan sparked outrage after a derogatory comment directed at a prominent female Twitch streamer on Twitter, made in response to controversial YouTuber Daniel “Keemstar” Keem, a G Fuel partner at the time. Keem`s partnership was subsequently terminated in 2020, with a G Fuel spokesperson citing that his “behavior did not align with our values.”
Further controversy arose in September 2022 when G Fuel reportedly dismissed seven talent managers. This occurred a mere 24 hours after five of these individuals filed an HR complaint against CEO Clifford Morgan, accusing him of using offensive language during a meeting. A company spokesperson, however, attributed the terminations to “lack of performance.”
The coming 24 hours are anticipated to reveal the true intentions behind G Fuel`s enigmatic announcement.
