Happy Fortnitemares 2025! Fortnite`s premier annual Halloween event is back, more expansive than ever. This season, Fortnite introduces nine new collaborations, featuring horror movies, spooky games, and even Doja Cat, who emerges as the event`s main antagonist. While many new skins and rewards will be available for purchase, you can earn numerous free Fortnitemares rewards, including a chilling new skin, by completing special quests. This comprehensive guide will walk you through completing all Fortnitemares challenges, including finding Velma`s magnifying glass, to claim every free Halloween-themed item the game offers.
Fortnitemares Quests 2025
This section details the Fortnitemares quests, which will be updated until the event concludes on November 1. This guide will also be updated as new challenges become available.
Complete Fred, Velma, Daphne, and Shaggy`s Found Quests (4) – 10k XP
To complete these quests, locate the Mystery Inc. gang members at their respective Fortnitemares hangouts. Shaggy is at the gas station west of Bugswatter Beach; Daphne is in Viney Shafts, just south of there; Fred can be found by the road at the southeastern edge of Ranger`s Ruin; and Velma is situated in the snowy area between Gourdy Gate and O.X.R. HQ. Speaking to each character will initiate their individual quest. Completing all four will earn you the full completion for this challenge. Each of these quests must be finished within the same match you start it in, and they are on timers. Our guide will help you stay well ahead of pace.
Help Shaggy – Make a Burger
Shaggy, true to form, is hungry and wants a burger. This is the simplest of these quests. Your screen will display exclamation points marking burger ingredients that you can collect by walking over them inside the gas station. After gathering three ingredients, interact with the stove behind the counter to make the burger. Deliver it to Shaggy by speaking to him again to complete the quest.
Help Daphne – Find the Mystery-Solving Wardrobe
Daphne`s mystery-solving gear has been stolen, and she needs your help to identify the culprit. Head southwest from Daphne`s location at Viney Shafts. On the cliff overlooking the reboot van, you`ll find the Mothman NPC, who confesses to taking the gear. He hopes using it would make him a good enough detective to join Mystery Inc. There`s no need to return to Daphne; once you`ve heard Mothman`s story, the quest is complete.
Help Velma – Find Velma`s Magnifying Glass
Velma, at Crackshot`s Cabin in the mountains, has misplaced her magnifying glass and requires your assistance to find it. Fortunately, it`s nearby: upstairs, positioned behind a pair of large boxes on the right. Once you interact with it, Velma will immediately retrieve the magnifying glass and begin searching for clues, completing the quest.
Help Fred – Repair the Mystery Machine
Fred`s Mystery Machine has broken down, leaving him stranded by the roadside. He needs your help to fix it. You`ll need to collect tires and engine parts, which can be found by heading west along the road toward Ranger`s Rest. After gathering the necessary parts, return to Fred to complete the quest.
A minor visual bug might occur during this quest: one objective (collect two tires) might appear completed immediately, and the objective text may be missing. However, the tires will still be marked with exclamation points and are collectible, allowing for normal quest completion.
Hire Scooby-Doo – 10k XP
Scooby-Doo himself is also on the island. You can find him with Shaggy, west of Bugswatter Beach. You can hire him by speaking to him, but be aware that this quest can be tricky early in Fortnitemares, as many players will attempt it, and only one person can succeed per round. It`s often best to approach his location when the Battle Bus flight path is far away, reducing competition. This is a team-up quest, meaning any member of your squad can hire him for everyone to complete it.
Hit Different Players with Last Call (7) – 10k XP
The Last Call is a legendary-tier, one-handed knife inspired by Ghostface from Scream. It can only be found by interacting with phone booths located around the island, with gas stations being the quickest places to find them. Once you have the Last Call knife, you simply need to strike seven different opponents with it to complete this quest.
Defeat the Mother of Thorns – 10k XP
Doja Cat`s formidable alter ego, the Mother of Thorns, is the main boss of Fortnitemares 2025. To confront her, head to one of the five Pumpkin Takeover areas: west of Supernova Academy, central Viney Shafts, central Gourdy Gate, south of Ranger`s Ruin, or central Pumpkin Pass. Her spawn location for each round is indicated by a skull-and-crown boss icon on your map. Be warned that, like most boss battles in Fortnite, she is best approached as a team, so consider saving this for when you are playing with a reliable and full squad. This is also a team-up quest.
Restore Health or Gain Shields with Scooby Snacks (450) – 10k XP
Scooby Snacks, a familiar reskin of the Dog Treats item, are readily available across the island. To complete this quest, you need to use them to restore a total of 450 health or shields when your character is not at full strength.
Pull Consumables with the Thorn Ripper (5) – 10k XP
The Thorn Ripper is another event-exclusive item, capable of pulling items—or players—closer to you. It is dropped by the Mother of Thorns herself, so you`ll need to defeat her to acquire it. Simply use it five times to pull consumables like health and shield items to complete this quest.
Visit Pumpkin Takeovers with the Mother of Thorns (3) – 10k XP
Pumpkin Takeovers are specific areas on the island that have been transformed into pumpkin patches. There are five such locations, but you only need to visit three for this challenge, and the Mother of Thorns must be present. After you defeat her in her dedicated quest, she will accompany you, allowing you to visit multiple Pumpkin Takeovers with her in a single round. Alternatively, you can drop at any Takeover where she spawns (indicated as orange areas with a blue hue on the map) that you haven`t visited yet. The locations are: west of Supernova Academy, in the center of Viney Shafts, in the center of Gourdy Gate, south of Ranger`s Ruin, and in the center of Pumpkin Pass. This is a team-up quest.
Fortnitemares 2025 Free Rewards
This year`s Fortnitemares event offers numerous free cosmetic rewards, including a chilling skin that looks like something out of a slasher movie. To earn them all, players must gain 15 account levels. Rewards are granted progressively, culminating in the free skin at the end. Here`s what you get for each account level milestone you cross:
- 2 levels – Butcher`s Tools back bling
- 4 levels – Art the Clown spray (Terrifier crossover)
- 6 levels – The Grind House loading screen
- 8 levels – Meat Grinder emote
- 10 levels – Wuggy Welcome loading screen (Poppy Playtime crossover)
- 12 levels – Butcher`s Knife pickaxe
- 15 levels – Pig The Butcher skin
Beyond quest rewards, two additional free items are available via Fortnite Twitch Drops. By watching qualifying streams (look for `Drops` indicated in the title of popular Fortnite streamers` broadcasts), you can earn:
