Fortnite Winterfest 2025: Complete Guide to Quests and Rewards

Fortnite’s latest Winterfest celebration has begun, bringing familiar elements like map changes, specific Battle Royale gameplay adjustments, and a generous assortment of free gifts available within the Winterfest cabin. However, the update also features two new major sets of quests. These challenges grant significant XP rewards and an additional, unique free cosmetic item unlocked by completing one of the specific questlines. Here is a breakdown of everything currently available.

Please note that not all Winterfest challenges are active yet. As of December 20, only the first two drops of quests have been released.

Winterfest 2025 Quests

The primary set of new challenges is listed under “Winterfest” in your quest log and is intended for Battle Royale mode. These challenges are released in four time-gated groups. The first group is live now, with the remaining groups rolling out periodically. Completing each individual quest awards 12,000 XP. While there may be a substantial reward for finishing the entire questline, details remain unconfirmed. All Winterfest quests will expire when the event concludes on January 5.

Drop 1 – Gift to the Stars

Collect a Perfect Gift from a chest

During Winterfest, any chest you open has a chance to drop an item called a “Perfect Gift.” When collected, this item initiates a separate, time-limited quest to deliver it to a non-hostile NPC within five minutes. For the purpose of this specific challenge, you only need to collect the item itself. Fortunately, the Perfect Gift does not take up one of your inventory slots.

Bring a Perfect Gift to any character

This quest requires you to successfully deliver one of the collected Perfect Gifts to an NPC. Any non-hostile character on the map will satisfy this requirement, so choose the most accessible one. To quickly identify the nearest NPC, open your map menu and switch to the “Characters” tab, which reveals the location of all NPCs.

Damage Yule Trooper or any other boss (500 points)

You need to inflict 500 points of damage upon any boss NPC. It is vital to remember that this task applies only to the actual non-player character bosses; players disguised using a boss token do not count.

Drop 2 – Passion for Presents

Bring a Perfect Gift to The Bride, Carter Wu, or Kingston

The process here is the same as the previous delivery challenge, but you must deliver the Perfect Gift to one of three specific characters: The Bride (found at Sandy Strip), Carter Wu (a hireable NPC located at Latte Landing), or Kingston (who is typically chilling near the beach at Bumpy Bay).

Travel 60 distance with Icy Feet

Icy Feet is a mobility item that allows for rapid, sliding movement. These items are surprisingly useful as they can be activated and deactivated instantly. The required distance of 60 meters is quite short, so this challenge will not take long to complete.

Search 5 chests at Clawsy Lodge or Tiptop Terrace

These two locations are situated near Wonkeeland. This challenge strictly requires you to open standard chests; searching ammo boxes or produce boxes will not contribute to the total count.

Squad Up! Quests

In addition to the main Winterfest quests, there is an extra set of straightforward challenges centered on collecting “Shiny Llamas” while playing in Squads modes (including Battle Royale, Reload, OG, or Blitz). Shiny Llamas have a chance to drop randomly whenever you open a rare chest, open a supply drop, or eliminate an enemy player or NPC. You receive 12,000 XP for every 100 Shiny Llamas collected, up to a maximum of 1,000. Fortunately, you do not have to compete with your teammates for these items, as any Shiny Llamas collected by any member of the squad count toward the group`s total.

This questline also offers a unique cosmetic reward. Collecting 400 Shiny Llamas will earn you the Starbrite Slasher pickaxe, an item that has been held in the Fortnite game files for almost two years. If you previously purchased the Lego starter pack that features the Brite Agent skin, you should prioritize this quest, as this is the first opportunity available to acquire the matching pickaxe for that set.
