Fortnite has been buzzing with a series of rapid-fire collaborations this week, introducing content related to Gorillaz, the Front Man from Squid Game, and One Punch Man. However, it appears Epic Games still has more surprises in store. The official Fortnite Instagram account recently teased a new skin based on a space dwarf from the cooperative shooter, Deep Rock Galactic.

A countdown timer suggests this six-foot-tall dwarf skin will be available in the Fortnite item shop on Friday, aligning with the usual 5 PM PT reset time. While such gaming skins typically come with accompanying accessories like a pickaxe, back bling, and a wrap, this isn`t always the case. For example, The Goat from Goat Simulator, which shares a publisher with Deep Rock Galactic, did not receive any extra items. The teaser image alone doesn`t provide further details on what, if any, additional cosmetics might be included.
This particular collaboration is notable as Deep Rock Galactic is not available on the Epic Games Store, making it a relatively rare type of cross-promotion for Fortnite. Nevertheless, it`s not entirely unprecedented, given that Halo, another title not found on EGS, recently featured in the current battle pass.
Deep Rock Galactic, which launched in early access on PC and Xbox in 2018 before its full release in 2020, is a co-op shooter. Players customize and control fantasy-style dwarves tasked with mining valuable resources within procedurally generated cave systems on a hostile alien planet. This latest collaboration is likely timed to promote the upcoming spin-off game, Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor, a top-down shooter scheduled to exit early access in September.
