Forsaken 64 Blasts onto Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack

Nintendo is expanding its Nintendo 64 – Nintendo Classics: Mature app with the exciting addition of the classic shooter Forsaken 64. Set to arrive on September 4, this highly anticipated title will be accessible exclusively to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack members who have the Mature version of the N64 app installed. Forsaken 64 marks only the fifth game to join this particular app, standing alongside other beloved classics such as Perfect Dark and Turok: Dinosaur Hunter.

Originally launched in 1998 for the Nintendo 64, PlayStation, and PC, Forsaken 64 immerses players in a dystopian future set in the year 2113. Following a cataclysmic science experiment that eradicated all life on Earth, the game unfolds in a desolate landscape. Notably, the N64 version offers a distinct narrative: players embody a character tasked with preventing thieves from acquiring lost treasures, a contrast to the treasure-hunting premise of its PlayStation and PC counterparts.

A defining feature that distinguished Forsaken 64 from other shooters of its era is its innovative movement system. Players enjoy full six degrees of freedom, allowing for complete three-dimensional movement—forward, backward, side-to-side, up, down, and all intermediate combinations. Furthermore, the re-release will retain the original`s four-player multiplayer capability, offering nostalgic competitive fun.

Fans can look forward to Forsaken 64`s release on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, arriving via the Nintendo 64 – Nintendo Classics: Mature app this September 4. Get ready to dive into this retro sci-fi adventure!
