Florida Files Lawsuits Against Adult Game & Content Sites Over Age Verification Violations

The state of Florida has taken legal action against companies distributing adult games and explicit online content. Florida`s Attorney General, James Uthmeier, has initiated two separate lawsuits targeting Lustyheroes.com and Aylo, the parent company responsible for Nutaku.net and SpiceVids.com. These legal complaints allege that the aforementioned websites have failed to comply with Florida’s HB 3 law, which became effective in January and mandates age verification for users accessing explicit online material within the state.

According to Uthmeier, all three digital platforms have disregarded their responsibility to confirm that visitors are at least 18 years old. The lawsuits are intended to serve as a strong deterrent and establish a precedent for other non-compliant sites. In a public statement, Uthmeier emphasized Florida`s commitment to fostering a safe environment for children. He declared, “We passed strong legislation to keep kids from being exposed to harmful and toxic material, and instead of following it, these platforms ignored it. We are taking them to court to make sure they cannot continue bypassing Florida’s common sense safeguards.”

Gethins Limited, the distributor of Lustyheroes, has not yet issued a public comment regarding the lawsuit. In contrast, Aylo, which also owns Pornhub, maintains that both Nutaku and SpiceVids have been in compliance with the new legislation since its implementation earlier this year. Aylo confirmed their intention to “vigorously defend against these allegations in court,” adding that their platforms are committed to ongoing adherence to applicable state laws and look forward to presenting their case through the appropriate legal process.

This legal offensive by Florida represents the latest development in a broader campaign by Republican lawmakers aimed at regulating pornographic content. Many internet users across the U.S. may have already encountered age verification pop-ups on explicit websites due to similar legislative efforts. While proponents emphasize the necessity of curtailing access to “graphic” and “harmful” content to safeguard minors, it is widely acknowledged that individuals often find alternative methods for accessing adult material despite these protective measures.
