Released last October for Switch and PlayStation, this special “Anniversary Edition” includes a sticker sheet featuring pixel art of Final Fantasy characters. It`s important to note that this is a true physical release: all six Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters are on a single Switch cartridge or PS4 disc (fully compatible with PS5). Square Enix initially released a limited physical run in 2023, which sold out extremely quickly. Last autumn`s re-release, now as the Anniversary Edition, made the collection available at major retailers for the first time.

All six games underwent significant graphical and audio overhauls for the Pixel Remaster series. Square Enix updated the sprites using the original pixel art as a foundation. Series composer Nobuo Uematsu supervised the creation of the rearranged soundtracks. Players can choose between the original and updated soundtracks, with the rearranged versions receiving high praise.
