Fallout Season One’s 4K Blu-Ray Edition Is Already Discounted At Amazon – GameSpot

The first season of the acclaimed TV series Fallout recently became available on 4K Blu-ray, and a notable discount is already being offered on Amazon. The 4K release, typically priced at $40, can currently be purchased for just $30. This matches the price point of the standard 1080p Blu-ray version. It`s important to note this deal applies to the standard edition with a plastic case, not the Limited Edition Steelbook. The Steelbook quickly sold out after preorders opened in April and briefly reappeared around the launch last week for $43. According to Amazon, unlike some limited editions, this one was truly limited, available only while supplies lasted.

Fallout: Season 1 Physical Media Pricing:

  • 4K Blu-ray: $30 (Originally $40)
  • 4K Steelbook: $43 (Currently Sold Out)
  • Standard Blu-ray: $30
  • DVD: $25

While there`s always a possibility of reprints for limited-edition Blu-rays, the way Amazon managed preorders for the standard 4K edition suggests supplies might indeed be exhausted for the Steelbook. The standard edition wasn`t listed until mid-May, after the Steelbook was gone, initially at the same $40 price. The lack of initial price difference indicated the Steelbook case might have been primarily an early preorder incentive. However, predicting restocks is difficult.

Regardless, the $10 discount on the standard edition is a welcome bonus for those who missed out on the fancier packaging and art cards that came with the Steelbook at launch on July 8. The actual video and audio content on the discs is identical across both versions.

The Fallout: Season 1 4K Blu-ray set comprises three discs, presenting all eight episodes in stunning 4K resolution (2160p) with High Dynamic Range (HDR), supporting both Dolby Vision and HDR10. Enhanced audio is also included, featuring Dolby Atmos and Dolby TrueHD 7.1 surround sound. The eight episodes have a combined runtime of 450 minutes, or 7.5 hours. In addition to the episodes, a bonus Blu-ray disc (not 4K) contains a variety of behind-the-scenes featurettes.

The Limited Edition Steelbook featured exclusive character art on the front and back covers, with the interior showcasing a Vault-Tec advertisement featuring Vault Boy. This edition also came with a slipcase and five art cards depicting the main characters. If you are still keen on the Steelbook, it might be worth checking retailers periodically in case a restock occurs, though availability is highly uncertain.

Fallout: Season 1 premiered on Prime Video in April of the previous year and garnered positive reviews from both critics and fans. It stands out as a successful live-action adaptation of a video game series, which is relatively uncommon. Its release on Blu-ray is a great option for viewers who prefer physical media or want to watch without a streaming subscription. The physical editions were manufactured and distributed by Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment.

The narrative follows three primary characters navigating the post-apocalyptic Wasteland: a Vault dweller experiencing the surface for the first time, a squire belonging to the Brotherhood of Steel, and a lethal bounty hunter known simply as The Ghoul.

For fans looking to add collectibles to their display, we`ve also found some interesting Fallout merchandise options available on Amazon.
