The Optimus Prime set has garnered significant attention since its release, with high demand often making it a sought-after item. The subsequent introduction of the Lego Soundwave Transformers set, initially an exclusive, further expanded the series, with both models now widely available to collectors. The Lego Icons Transformers lineup currently includes three iconic characters, each meticulously designed to capture their classic G1-era appearance. This includes the highly articulated Bumblebee set, completing a powerful trio for enthusiasts.

Lego Optimus Prime model

The Lego Icons Optimus Prime model intricately replicates the G1-era design of the Autobot leader. Standing at 13.5 inches, this 1,508-piece collectible boasts 19 points of articulation, enabling a wide array of dynamic poses in robot mode. Its innovative 2-in-1 design allows for extensive movement, surpassing typical Lego models.

The transformation between robot and truck modes is remarkably intuitive. Initially, it may take a few minutes, but with practice, collectors can achieve conversion in under a minute.

Beyond its transformative capability, Optimus Prime offers a suite of interactive elements and accessories, positioning it among Lego`s most dynamic adult collector sets. It includes brick-built replicas of the ion blaster and Energon axe, a detachable jetpack, and interchangeable waist panels. The chest windows open to reveal the Matrix of Leadership. An Energon cube and a display information plaque further enhance the model.

Lego`s expertise in vehicle models is evident in Optimus Prime`s truck form, which is so meticulously designed it could easily be mistaken for a non-transforming display piece. In truck mode, the model measures 10.5 x 4.5 x 5.5 inches.

As with many Lego sets aimed at adult collectors, constructing Optimus Prime involves a more intricate process than standard sets. The diverse range of conventional and unique brick types provides a profoundly satisfying building experience, typically requiring three to six hours to complete, depending on individual building prowess.

Following Optimus Prime`s debut, his loyal companion Bumblebee joined the Lego brick-built universe. This 950-piece kit, while smaller, stands out as an exceptional collectible. It features multiple articulation points and allows for a swift transformation from robot to car mode.

Bumblebee measures 9.5 inches tall as a robot and 8.5 inches long as a vehicle, with its design faithfully inspired by the character`s 1980s appearance. Accessories include a detachable ion blaster, a jetpack, and an informational display plaque.

Lego Soundwave model

The Lego Icons Transformers series welcomed the Decepticons with the release of Soundwave. This 1,505-piece display model stands 13 inches tall, comparable in size and complexity to the Optimus Prime set.

True to the series, Soundwave`s design originates from the G1 era. Its distinctive 2-in-1 transformation allows it to convert into a boombox, complete with sound effects and dialogue activated by pressing its `play` button.

Adding to its uniqueness, the set includes buildable figures of Ravage and Laserbeak. These smaller companions also transform into cassettes, which can then be neatly stored within Soundwave`s integrated cassette deck.

An accompanying brick-built information plaque details Soundwave`s technical specifications, complemented by a miniature cassette tape display.

Soundwave was initially introduced as a timed exclusive for Lego Stores before its broader release to major retailers.
