Amplitude Studios has officially announced that Endless Legend 2, the highly anticipated sequel to their 2014 turn-based 4X fantasy-strategy game Endless Legend (which immersed players in the world of Auriga), is slated to enter early access later this month. A significant detail is its immediate availability as a day one release on PC Game Pass. This new chapter transports players to an intriguing aquatic planet known as Saiadha.
The sequel was initially revealed earlier this year through a compelling and somewhat unsettling trailer. This preview strongly implied that the planet Saiadha functions as a massive prison for an unnamed, god-like entity, with its vast, encompassing oceans serving as the entity`s chains. The mysterious `god` featured in the trailer confidently foretold that one of Saiadha`s warring factions would inevitably make the fateful mistake of releasing it.
In Endless Legend 2, players will have the option to select from six distinct factions and races, each fiercely contending for dominance across Saiadha`s dynamic and ever-evolving landscapes. The pace at which a player`s chosen faction expands its territorial reach and gains an upper hand over its rivals will be directly influenced by their strategic acumen and decisions. During the early access period, four of these factions will be immediately playable, with the remaining two planned for introduction upon the game`s full launch.
A limited demonstration of Endless Legend 2 was made available for a few days in August, offering a preview of the game with only two playable factions. This demo provided a glimpse into some of the final game`s features, including two cataclysmic “tidefalls” — world-altering events that dramatically reshape the planet`s geography. Furthermore, players encountered 15 minor factions and had the opportunity to confront the formidable Necrophage, a monstrous, insectoid-like species infamous for infecting other races with a plague that transforms them into one of their own kind.
The official early access launch for Endless Legend 2 is scheduled to commence on September 22.
