Elden Ring Nightreign: Datamine Reveals Potential “Deep of Night” Ranked Mode

Elden Ring Nightreign recently introduced a two-player duo option, and now it appears From Software is preparing to add a new, more enigmatic mode to its multiplayer project: a ranked mode.

Dataminers on Reddit (via PC Gamer), having analyzed the files from the latest Nightreign update, have uncovered information about a potential future mode. Named “Deep of Night,” it seemingly functions as a ranked system where victories boost a player`s rating, thereby unlocking access to more challenging Depths.

“Victory will increase your rating, burnishing your Depth. The darkness extends unto infinity.”

Based on datamined screenshots, players will seemingly progress through five ranks, or Depths. A skill-based matchmaking system will group players of similar ratings. Each subsequent Depth will be more challenging, and while losses might reduce a player`s rating, it appears that once a certain Depth is reached, players won`t regress to earlier ones.

“If you continually lose rating, your Depth will be reduced, but once you have reached Depth 2, you cannot return to Depth 1.”

Regarding gameplay alterations, Deep of Night will likely introduce new “magmafied” enemy forms for players to confront. Weapons acquired within this mode will come with both buffs and debuffs. Additionally, players might gain three extra slots for “Depth Relics,” which are exclusively functional within the Deep of Night game mode.

It remains uncertain when the Deep of Night mode might be implemented into Elden Ring Nightreign. It`s crucial to remember that all this information is based on datamined leaks and is subject to change, as From Software has yet to make any official announcements. Nevertheless, it sounds like a promising addition to Elden Ring Nightreign`s endgame, though players will have to await official details.

Elden Ring Nightreign is just one of From Software`s ongoing projects. Earlier this year, the studio announced development on another multiplayer-focused RPG, “The Duskbloods,” slated as an exclusive for the Nintendo Switch 2. Recent reports also suggest From Software is deep in development on another, as-yet-unannounced game, reportedly set for a 2026 release.

While multiplayer titles seem to be a current focus for the studio, From Software`s head, Hidetaka Miyazaki, affirmed that the studio is not abandoning single-player experiences and will continue to develop games embracing their “more traditional style.”
