Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake Returns to Prime Day Sale Price

The highly anticipated Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake has returned to its special Prime Day pricing across major retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, and Target. Fans can now acquire this beautifully reimagined classic JRPG for an exceptional price of just $35 on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X. While the Switch and PS5 versions are widely available, Best Buy is currently the primary retailer for the Xbox Series X edition.

This remake revitalizes the 1988 original with stunning new HD-2D visuals, re-orchestrated musical scores, and various gameplay enhancements, all while preserving the beloved content that made the game a hit. Dragon Quest III was groundbreaking for its innovative class-switching system and a non-linear, open-world structure, features that remain compelling today. The modern upgrade also introduces numerous quality-of-life improvements, making it a perfect blend of nostalgia and contemporary gaming.

Chronologically, Dragon Quest III serves as a prequel to Dragon Quest I and II, making it an excellent starting point for newcomers to the series. Square Enix is also developing HD-2D remakes for the first two games, which will be bundled together and released on October 30. These three titles collectively form what is known as “The Erdrick Trilogy.”

The distinctive HD-2D visual style of these remakes is consistent with other visually impressive Square Enix titles, including Live A Live, Octopath Traveler II, Star Ocean: The Second Story R, and Triangle Strategy.
