News has emerged from Taiwan’s game rating board concerning a new version of Devil May Cry 5, specifically labeled the “Devil Hunter Edition,” for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 console.
While the initial rating confirms its existence, further information regarding this particular edition, such as whether it will feature new content or simply be a direct port, is not yet available.
Game versions frequently surface through rating boards before official announcements. A Nintendo Switch 2 port of Devil May Cry 5 seems highly plausible, given Capcom’s consistent and strong support for Nintendo’s platforms. Capcom has already committed several titles to the Switch 2, including Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess as a launch title, Resident Evil Requiem, Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, and Pragmata, set for release in April. This ongoing dedication makes the addition of more Capcom titles to the platform unsurprising.
This would not mark the first expanded release for Devil May Cry 5. The “Special Edition” was previously launched for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in 2020, approximately a year after the original game. That version introduced enhanced visuals, gameplay refinements, two additional game modes, and Vergil as a fully playable character. It is widely anticipated that the “Devil Hunter Edition” would incorporate these same improvements and additions.
Devil May Cry 5 currently remains the latest installment in the iconic franchise, although speculation continues regarding the potential development of a sixth main title.
Devil May Cry 5 is presently accessible across multiple platforms, including PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
