Microsoft Gaming is currently undergoing a significant transition phase. This period is notably marked by Phil Spencer’s stepping down from his previous CEO role within Microsoft Gaming, a position now filled by Asha Sharma.
Over the years, Spencer has garnered considerable admiration from players, largely due to his authentic gamer’s spirit and his crucial work in revitalizing Xbox following the initial struggles of the Xbox One launch, which included the Kinect. Recently, Denis Dyack, a well-known developer who collaborated with Spencer, shared his thoughts with Wccftech, expressing profound praise for the Microsoft executive.
Dyack’s Praise for Spencer
Dyack stated: “I knew Phil very well. As a matter of fact, he oversaw and greenlit Too Human. We talked about it for a long time. He’s a really good person. He did an excellent job.”
He elaborated: “He grew Xbox incredibly. He transformed Microsoft’s gaming division from a mid-sized player to one of the biggest in the world. He was a gamer at heart. The market is getting very, very tough now, and they’re going to be facing a lot of headwinds, so for the new person coming in, it’s going to be difficult. But he positioned Microsoft on very solid ground to have success.”
Spencer’s contributions have been pivotal to Xbox’s evolution, establishing a strong legacy as the company embarks on its new leadership era.
