CD Projekt Red demonstrates its continued commitment to Cyberpunk 2077 with the release of a free performance update.
This update is exclusively for PlayStation 5 Pro consoles, leveraging the hardware’s full capabilities to deliver enhanced graphical fidelity in Night City. As an added bonus, Cyberpunk 2077 is currently available to PS+ Extra and Premium subscribers at no additional cost.
The update introduces three distinct graphical modes. Performance mode prioritizes the highest possible frame rates, ideal for players seeking fluid gameplay. Ray Tracing Pro mode is the premium option, fully utilizing the PS5 Pro’s capabilities for advanced ray-tracing enhancements. A standard Ray Tracing mode offers a balanced experience between the other two.
A notable feature of this update is the integration of PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR). This AI-powered upscaling technology renders games at a lower internal resolution before intelligently enhancing them, aiming to boost performance while maintaining visual quality.
Although the patch notes are concise, they highlight additional improvements such as BVH8 support, which optimizes ray tracing for more efficient rendering of shadows, reflections, and overall lighting. This represents a significant graphical enhancement for Cyberpunk 2077, available now for PS5 Pro owners to download and experience Night City with improved visuals.
