Conan The Barbarian Joins Jotunnslayer: Hordes of Hel in New DLC

Developers of Jotunnslayer: Hordes of Hel have revealed an exciting new DLC that will bring the legendary Conan The Barbarian into the game’s chilling Norse realms.

This expansion is slated for release on April 9th, 2026, across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S platforms. The update not only introduces Conan himself but also includes several other significant additions. A highlight is the new local multiplayer mode, which is a free component of the update. Players will now be able to enjoy shared runs featuring innovative mechanics such as alternating level-up choices and enhanced build synergy across various classes and gods. While local multiplayer is free, playing as Conan The Barbarian will require a paid DLC purchase, an investment that promises to be worthwhile for fans of the iconic character.

Conan is depicted as an incredibly aggressive character, with his playstyle entirely built around this ferocity. His primary mechanic, “triumph,” allows him to shrug off incoming damage immediately after defeating enemies, rendering him almost unstoppable during these moments. This ability is further amplified by his “Born in Battle” trait, which grants more devastating critical hits and a powerful ram dash to charge through groups of foes.

Players can further specialize Conan through three distinct subclasses. The “King of Aquilonia” wields a greatsword, focusing on massive slashes and brutal dashes to overpower adversaries. The “Stygian Gladiator” adopts a defensive stance with a sword and shield, excelling at stunning enemies and scaling effectively with the triumph ability. Lastly, the “Zamorian Rogue” employs dual-wielding, rapidly charging the triumph ability to become exceptionally evasive with virtually endless dash charges.

Conan will feel right at home in this new content, as his homeland, Stygia, has been drawn into the game’s depths. Stygia is a sun-scorched environment presenting visibility challenges and the threat of illusions. The objective is to navigate ancient ruins in search of powerful artifacts, but players must be wary, as these ruins are fiercely guarded by formidable necromantic forces. At the heart of this desolate waste lies a new boss, the Undead Jotunn – a long-dead Stygian wizard-king who employs forbidden magics and deceptive attacks to dominate the battlefield.

Launching simultaneously with this DLC is a substantial game update introducing the God of Fate. This new deity offers a high-risk, high-reward blessing system, where players who invest in fate will generate symbols that determine their unique rewards. These rewards can range from significant gold bursts to game-changing power spikes. However, fate is a notoriously unpredictable force, so players should exercise caution before tempting it.

Overall, this appears to be a robust and exciting update for Jotunnslayer: Hordes of Hel, and the return of Conan The Barbarian to the gaming world is always a welcome sight.
