Capcom Gears Up for Resident Evil’s 30th-Anniversary Celebration

Next year, the iconic Resident Evil series will mark its 30th anniversary, having first launched on March 22, 1996. While a new game, Resident Evil Requiem, is slated for release, Capcom is also preparing a special celebration for this significant milestone. A dedicated anniversary website has been launched, though it currently offers limited content.

The top section of the website features impressive artwork depicting various beloved protagonists from the series, including Leon Kennedy, Claire and Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, Ada Wong, and the new character from Resident Evil Requiem, Grace Ashcroft.

Beyond the artwork, the site displays a 30th-anniversary logo alongside text confirming, “2026 marks the 30th anniversary of the Resident Evil series!” An interesting graphic of a sunglasses-wearing raccoon is also present, positioned before a spinning disc emblazoned with “coming soon…”

With Resident Evil Requiem launching on February 27 next year, it`s unlikely that a major new game announcement will be part of the anniversary. However, fans can probably anticipate the release of themed merchandise. As the anniversary is just seven months away, details on Capcom`s full plans should be revealed relatively soon.
