Call of Duty: Black Ops 7’s Gravemaker Streak: A Potentially Overpowered Wall-Piercing Weapon

In Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, a new scorestreak known as the Gravemaker is causing a stir among players. This unique ability grants players the power to eliminate opponents with a single shot, even when targets are behind walls. Its formidable nature suggests it could be an incredibly potent tool, though potentially frustrating for those on the receiving end, drawing immediate comparisons to illicit “wallhacking” software.

The Gravemaker operates as a one-shot kill sniper rifle. While its introduction was first announced in August, the true extent of its capabilities in live gameplay was only recently showcased during the Call of Duty: Next event. Footage featuring a professional Call of Duty League player vividly demonstrated the streak`s immense destructive power. When players aim down sights with the Gravemaker, it projects an enemy`s silhouette through environmental barriers, rendering it exceptionally lethal and difficult to counter.

Beyond its standard configuration, the Gravemaker can be further enhanced with two distinct “overclock” options. Overclock 1 provides an expanded magazine, allowing for increased ammunition capacity. Meanwhile, Overclock 2 significantly reduces the weapon`s charge-up time before it can be fired, offering quicker engagement opportunities.

Developers have expressed their commitment to closely monitoring player feedback concerning the Gravemaker. They are prepared to implement adjustments if the streak is deemed excessively powerful or if it negatively impacts the overall game experience. With the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 beta commencing on October 2nd—which will feature the Gravemaker—Activision anticipates gathering a substantial amount of data to inform any necessary balancing changes.

Some commentators have also highlighted the apparent evolution of wall-piercing weaponry, drawing parallels between the Gravemaker and the infamous FarSight gun from Perfect Dark. Both weapons share the controversial mechanic of allowing players to shoot through physical barriers, a feature historically known for causing significant annoyance and disruption among adversaries.

The multiplayer beta for Black Ops 7 is scheduled to run from October 2nd to October 8th. This period will offer participants a valuable opportunity to explore a selection of the game`s various modes, maps, and even a glimpse into the popular Zombies experience. The full version of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is set for release on November 14th, becoming available across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC platforms.
