Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Reveal Set for Gamescom in August

Gamescom organizer Geoff Keighley has announced that the worldwide reveal of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will take place during Gamescom Opening Night Live this August. Fans can anticipate the unveiling during the broadcast on Tuesday, August 19, beginning at 11 AM PT / 2 PM ET / 8 PM CEST. The official Call of Duty account confirmed the event, telling fans, “See you soon.”

Black Ops 7 was initially announced in June at the Xbox Games Showcase. Activision intentionally kept the pre-reveal hype to a minimum, aiming to replicate Beyoncé`s surprise release strategy.

The game is set in the year 2035 and is poised to be the most “mind-bending” installment in the Black Ops series. This marks the first time Activision is releasing Black Ops titles in consecutive years. Treyarch and Raven Software are the primary co-developers for Black Ops 7, having also collaborated on 2024`s Black Ops 6.

It`s anticipated that Call of Duty: Warzone will receive future updates linked to Black Ops 7. In fact, the Black Ops 7 trailer offered a potential hint at a new Warzone map.

Black Ops 7 features a notable cast, with Milo Ventimiglia (known for “This is Us,” “Gilmore Girls”) voicing David Mason. Kiernan Shipka (“Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”) plays Emma Kagan, and Michael Rooker (“Guardians of the Galaxy”) reprises his role as Mike Harper from Black Ops 2.

Black Ops 7 is scheduled for release later this year on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC. While a Nintendo Switch 2 version wasn`t announced, Activision and Microsoft have reaffirmed their commitment to bringing Call of Duty to Nintendo platforms.
