Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Multiplayer: Wall-Running, Active Camo & Key Gameplay Overhauls Revealed

Gamescom provided a detailed look at Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, highlighting a significant update to its Omnimovement system: the introduction of wall-jumping.

As demonstrated in recent footage, wall-jumping allows players to traverse maps with enhanced agility, reminiscent of wall-running mechanics from earlier Call of Duty titles or the exosuit abilities seen in Advanced Warfare. This feature is poised to offer innovative ways for players to outmaneuver opponents.

Wall-jumping is just one of many substantial changes coming to Black Ops 7`s multiplayer experience.

Core Gameplay Mechanics Revamped

Notably, tactical sprint is no longer a default ability; players will need to equip a perk to utilize it. Similarly, aiming down sights (ADS) while sliding, diving, or wall-jumping now requires a specific perk. A new Gung Ho perk has been introduced, enabling players to fire their weapons while sprinting.

Players can also anticipate a new active camo field upgrade, granting temporary invisibility on the battlefield.

Manual doors on multiplayer maps, which allowed players to open, close, or peek in Black Ops 6, have been removed in Black Ops 7. Another significant addition is a new social feature designed to facilitate quick sharing of weapon builds among players.

New Modes and Content at Launch

The multiplayer suite for Black Ops 7 expands with a new 20v20 mode called Skirmish, incorporating wingsuits and grappling hooks, alongside the traditional 6v6 core maps.

Upon its November launch, Black Ops 7 will feature 16 6v6 maps (13 new, 3 remakes from Black Ops 2) and two maps for the Skirmish mode. Players will have access to 30 weapons initially, comprising 28 ranged weapons and two melee options, with 16 of these being entirely new to the Call of Duty series.

Activision plans to reveal more details about Black Ops 7`s multiplayer and the Zombies mode during the upcoming Call of Duty Next event in September.
