Gearbox has rolled out a new PC update for Borderlands 4, specifically designed to address critical stability issues that have impacted the looter-shooter. The development team, through the game`s official website, stated that this patch aims to “improve stability on PC, smooth out progression, and update the Gilded Glory Pack loot and rewards for a more seamless experience.” Key areas targeted for crash resolution include those tied to animations, audio, collision detection, and GPU performance.
The update also includes adjustments to the Gilded Glory Pack. Moving forward, its unique gear will no longer be found in standard chests, and previous issues with the Reward Center concerning the claiming of Gilded Glory Pack items have been rectified. The Gilded Glory Pack itself is a pre-order bonus, offering players four legendary weapons and a distinctive cosmetic head.
This patch arrives after Borderlands 4, despite a successful Steam debut on September 12, garnered significant criticism due to a multitude of issues encountered in its PC version. While the studio acknowledged these player complaints as a “top priority” for the team, Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford also shared his thoughts regarding the expressed dissatisfaction.
Borderlands 4 is currently available for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with a Nintendo Switch 2 version anticipated on October 3. For a comprehensive overview, the full patch notes for this latest Borderlands 4 update are detailed below:
